About Greg

Greg Maxton is the best choice to be the next Mayor of Fair Oaks Ranch. He is a proven leader with experience we can trust. He has spent his life in service of his fellow Americans. And Greg shares our values and our vision for the future of this wonderful city.

Native Texan
Greg has lived here in Fair Oaks Ranch for seven years. He grew up in the Dallas area and attended Texas A&M University, where he was in the Corps of Cadets. After graduating with a degree in Biomedical Science, Greg accepted a commission as a Lieutenant in the United States Army.

Proud Veteran
Greg spent 30 years on active duty, including postings in Hawaii, across the continental U.S., and in Europe. He deployed multiple times for a total of 51 months. Before retiring as a Colonel in 2016, Greg served as Deputy Commander for the U.S. Army South Headquarters on Ft. Sam Houston, where he was responsible for overseeing operations in Central and South America focused on drug trafficking, terrorism, and smuggling.

Successful Small Business Owner
After retiring from the Army, Greg went to work in the construction industry, helping a local company streamline and find efficiencies in their operations. In doing so, he recognized the need for a company to produce a new material for building retaining walls. He recruited investors and started this new company, which he owns and operates, in 2017.

Dedicated Family Man
In 1988, Greg met Karen Borman, a graduate of the University of Oklahoma. They have been married for over 32 years and, since A&M's move to the SEC, no longer fight about football. For the last seven years, Karen has worked as a sonographer and nuclear medicine technician for South Texas Radiology Imaging Centers (STRIC). Greg and Karen are the proud parents of boy-girl twins, Cody and Shelby, graduates of Boerne Champion High School who are currently seniors at Texas A&M University and Southern Methodist University, respectively.

Committed Public Servant
For the last three and a half years, Greg has served us on the Fair Oaks Ranch City Council, working hard to ensure we protect and preserve our unique quality of life here. He also served on the Home Rule Charter Commission. And Greg is a member of the Rotary Club of Fair Oaks Ranch, where he currently serves as Vice-President and will serve as President next year.

The Right Leader for Fair Oaks Ranch
Greg will be a respectful, thoughtful, conservative leader we can trust to work hard every single day to: • Protect and preserve our quality of life.
• Ensure the safety of our residents.
• Deliver top quality essential services.
